Description
a red tailed hawk attacking a mature bald eagle north of longmont co. a modern day david vs golliath story. I was driving home from work one day and saw a couple red tailed hawks in a prarie dog field munching on a fresh kill, i stopped to get some pics. about the time i got ready two more showed up and started challenging for the meal, flying and dodging and narrow escapes the hawk kept the p-dog.... then out of nowhere this bald eagle showed up to get in on the action. the hawk dropped the food and started a relentless fight, diving tallons out, screaching, and dodging. eventually the hawks won as the bald eagle made a b-line for the hills.
